Womens Day Celebration 2022 - Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Engineering and Technology, Ariyur, Puducherry 605 102.

International women’s day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. The main objectives of this day includes creating awareness of gender equality for a healthy society. It celebrates womanhood and pays tribute to the indomitable spirit of women across the globe. To honor the divine womanhood, SRI VENKATESHWARAA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, ARIYUR, PUDUCHERRY, organized an International women’s day celebration, to raise an awareness about the status and dignity of women among students.

For the first time in India, The Painting Competition / Exhibition was held in Metaverse at Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering and Technology, Pondicherry, Ariyur. Due to the development of current technology it is possible to communicate even with someone anywhere in the world. It's possible to make friends with someone you have never met in person through social media. Metaverse is the Future which is a combination of the words meta and universe. More than 350 people have participated in the competition and showcased their work. Selected paintings from them have been placed on the METAVERSE for virtual viewing. The women's day programme commenced with a truly inciting session by MRS.SHAIFALY SANGAL an inspiring womenpreneur with an incredible appellation as a POSH consultant. In her address she describes clearly as of how discourse, not imposition is the way to create awareness on the site of sexual annoyance and for the betterment of the women a mou was signed. The Programme was followed with an awareness session by Mrs.M.Helen Rani, Former District Youth Officer, Cuddalore and Puducherry,an incredible keynote speaker.

The presentation highlighted the message about the competency of women, intellectual capacity of women as capable of holding high responsibility as efficiently as men can do and about adolescents understanding self for a proper management of distractions. Ms. Arthi Nandagopal, Founder of Keep_Fit_Relish, Wellness Expert / Sports Exercise, Psychologist explained to the students how they can maintain their health and use the phone safely without overuse. Saplings were planted on the college campus to mark International Women's Day 2022 - to create awareness among students.

 All the women faculty and staff were warmly invited to take part in the commemoration of this day through performance arts such as a scintillating dance performance, terrific miming and a melancholy song by the amazingly talented student body. Competitions like mehandi designing and rangoli were held on campus and winners and runners were given their respective awards. The top of the cake for the event, being the cake cutting ceremony took place with a little bliss in every bite. Jollification is a necessary part of every celebration. The ladies of the college were interested in a set of indoor fun games in which they all took part with full merriment, a sense of unity amongst them and an inciting pride of womanhood.

All the deserving female faculty, supporting staff and admin staff were given momentos . Shri.B. Ramachandran, Chairman,SVGI,Dr.B. Vidya,COO, greeted everyone. Dr. S. Pradeep Devaneyan, Principal  , Dean.Dr. K.B Jayaraman presented the certificates. All department heads, professors, office staff and students were present for the program.Arrangements for the ceremony were made by the Mr. Meganathan Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Electronics. There is no force more powerful than a woman determined to rise. Here’s to all the divine women and a very happy women’s day…not just today but everyday
