SVCET-MADRAS MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION STUDENT CHAPTER INAGURATION ON 12TH JUNE 2024

The Department of Management Studies ,  Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Engineering and Technology (SVCET) proudly inaugurated the Madras Management Association (MMA) Student Chapter with a grand ceremony and an enlightening seminar. The event, which took place in the MBA Seminar hall, saw an enthusiastic turnout of students and faculty members eager to engage with the world of management through the lens of cricket.

Under the guidance  Shri. B. Ramachandran, Chairman , Shri. B.R. Rajiv Krishna, Managing Director , Mrs. Moushmi Rajiv Krishna, Executive Director & Dr. B. Vidhya, Chief Operating Officer , The inauguration commenced with a traditional lighting of the kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries on stage, symbolizing the start of a new journey for the students of SVCET.

The event was graced by the presence of the Guest of Honour, Group Captain Dr. R. Venkataraman, General Manager of Madras Management Association (MMA), who brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the occasion.

The inaugural address was delivered by Miss. Prithingaradevi, a first-year MBA student, setting the tone for the day's proceedings. Then as a token of appreciation, Dr. S.Pradeep Devaneyan, Principal of SVCET, and Dr. K.B. Jayaraman, Dean, honored Group Captain Dr. R. Venkataraman General Manager, Madras Manangement of Association with a memento. Following the Honouring , Mr. Hariharan of I MBA took the stage to introduce the resource person, Group Captain Dr. R. Venkataraman. Next Group Captain Dr. R. Venkataraman captivated the audience with his seminar titled "Management Lessons from the World of Cricket." He drew parallels between the strategic nuances of cricket and effective management practices, illustrating how teamwork, leadership, and strategic planning in cricket can be applied to business management. His engaging presentation was met with keen interest and sparked thoughtful discussions among the attendees.

Following the seminar a significant highlight of the event was the introduction of the newly appointed student office bearers of the MMA Student Chapter at SVCET. Mr. Hariharan, Miss. Prithingaradevi, and Mr. Marcelino J, of first-year MBA, were formally introduced by the Principal, Dean, and the guest of Honour , marking the beginning of their roles in leading the student chapter.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Kandi Raje from I MBA, acknowledging the efforts of everyone involved in making the inauguration a success. . The ceremony was brought to a close with the national anthem, instilling a sense of pride and unity among the participants. The proceedings were skillfully coordinated by Ms. Anitha . A, Head of the MBA Department, along with her dedicated team of faculty members from the Management Studies department.
