GREEN ART CHALLENGE – A CREATIVE CELEBRATION OF SUSTAINABILITY on 21.02.2026
Under the banner of the Environmental Science – Green Design Competition, the Department of Biomedical Engineering in association with the Research & Development Cell of Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Engineering and Technology successfully organized the Green Art Challenge on 21st February 2026 at the BME Seminar Hall.
The event, themed “Green Today, Healthy Tomorrow,” aimed to integrate environmental science with creativity, encouraging students to transform sustainability concepts into impactful artistic expressions.
All Second, Third, and Final Year BME students actively participated as teams, showcasing their artistic talent and creative interpretations of sustainability principles. Through collaborative efforts, they presented thoughtfully designed artworks reflecting environmental responsibility, green innovation, and a shared commitment toward building a cleaner and healthier future. The competition witnessed vibrant engagement and meaningful visual narratives that reinforced the importance of sustainability in engineering practice.
The programme was graced by Dr. S. Pradeep Devaneyan, Principal, and Dr. K. B. Jayarraman, Vice Principal, who addressed the gathering and appreciated the students’ creativity and environmental consciousness. They emphasized the significance of incorporating sustainable thinking into both professional practice and everyday life. Prizes were distributed to the winners, and appreciation certificates were awarded to all participants in recognition of their enthusiastic involvement.
The event was organized under the leadership of Mr. S. Balaji, HoD – Biomedical Engineering, and Dr. G. Amuthavalli, Professor & Head – Research & Development. The programme was coordinated by Ms. K. Kaviya, Assistant Professor – Biomedical Engineering, with the dedicated support of Student Coordinators V. Gobiga (II Year BME) and S. Rajeswari (II Year BME) and the team.
The Green Art Challenge stands as a testament to the institution’s continuous efforts to nurture socially responsible engineers who blend creativity, innovation, and environmental stewardship, thereby reinforcing SVCET’s commitment to sustainable development and holistic education.
