Bedong, Malaysia – 5th August 2024 – In a groundbreaking move for the Sri Venkateshwaraa Group of Institutions (SVGI) from Puducherry, India, Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Physiotherapy (SVCOPT) and AIMST University Malaysia have unveiled a visionary partnership. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed on 5th August 2024 at AIMST University, heralds a new era of innovation and collaboration in physiotherapy education and research. This landmark agreement was realized through the visionary leadership of Sri B. Ramachandiran, Chairman of SVGI, Shri A. R. Rajiv Krishna, Managing Director of SVGI, and the strategic oversight of Dr. B. Vidhya, Chief Operating Officer of SVGI.

This pioneering MOU sets the stage for a robust collaboration between the two institutions, focusing on revolutionary areas such as joint research initiatives, academic exchanges, and cutting-edge training programs. By combining their strengths, SVCOPT and AIMST University are poised to drive significant advancements in the field.

The MOU was formally signed by Prof. Dr. Kathiresan V. Sathasivam, Vice-Chancellor of AIMST University, and Prof. K. Anand Babu, Principal of Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Physiotherapy. Prof. Dr. Yu Chye Wah, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Professions, graciously welcomed the distinguished gathering. The momentous event was skilfully facilitated and witnessed by Dr. Kshtrashal, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Professions at AIMST University, and Prof. Paulraj Manickavelu from SVCOPT, Puducherry India.

Prof. Anand Babu expressed his excitement about the new alliance: “This partnership marks a pivotal moment for both institutions. The MOU not only symbolizes our shared vision for advancing physiotherapy education and research but also represents a commitment to innovation. Together, we will redefine the standards of training and research in our field.”

Prof. Kathiresan commented on the significance of the collaboration: “Our MOU with Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Physiotherapy is more than a formal agreement—it’s a commitment to pioneering advancements in physiotherapy. This collaboration will leverage our collective expertise to push the boundaries of what’s possible in education and practice.”
