A six-day ATAL Faculty Development Program (FDP) on the theme “Global Warming Prevalence for Climate-Friendly Energy Production” was inaugurated at Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Engineering and Technology (SVCET) on 08.09.2025 (Monday). The program is aimed at enriching the teaching and research competencies of faculty members in the field of Sustainability and Renewable Energy.
The inaugural function was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Mr. V. Shanmuganandam, Founder & CEO, Touch Solar Technologies, who addressed the gathering and spoke on the urgency of combating global warming through academic innovation and energy transformation. He/she appreciated the initiative taken by the institution in organizing a program of such relevance.
Dr. B. Vidhya, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Sri Venkateshwaraa Group of Institutions, delivered the inaugural address, stressing the importance of continuous faculty development and the adoption of climate-conscious practices in technical education.
In his welcome address, Dr. S. Pradeep Devanayan, Principal of SVCET, emphasized the college's commitment to academic excellence and its proactive role in addressing global environmental challenges through education.
Dr. K. B. Jayarraman, Vice Principal, encouraged participants to engage actively with the sessions and highlighted the role of FDPs in building inter-institutional collaboration and academic growth.
Mr. R. Venkedesh, Head of the Department, shared insights into the theme of the FDP and its real-world applications, aligning with both academic curriculum and industry demands.
The program is being coordinated by Dr. Meganathan P and co-coordinated by Mr. Sandou Louis Kishor, under the aegis of AICTE-ATAL. The six-day event will include expert lectures, technical sessions, hands-on workshops, and panel discussions led by eminent academicians and industry professionals.
Faculty members from various institutions have registered for the program, making it a dynamic platform for knowledge sharing, skill enhancement, and collaborative learning.
