SVCET Research & Development cell organized a public awareness session of Indian Security and Education Awareness (ISEA) on Cyber safety and Cyber hygiene practices for more than 350 students from SVCET and ICON.
This programme was hosted by the Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Bangalore, who is the regional center of this funded project ISEA of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MietY), Govt. of India.

The session on Cyber Safety and Cyber Hygiene Practices was both informative and highly relevant, especially in today’s digitally-driven world. The speaker effectively highlighted common cyber threats, including phishing, malware, and social engineering, while also offering practical advice on how to prevent them.
Key takeaways included the importance of strong passwords, regular software updates, identifying suspicious links, and maintaining good digital hygiene across devices and platforms. The real-life case studies and interactive Q&A helped reinforce the concepts and made the session engaging.
Additionally, the potential collaboration with C-DAC to technically equip CSE students in the domain of cybersecurity was also discussed by our principal.
The event was felicitated by Principal & Vice-principal and HoD-S&H, the faculty members of S&H, first year engineering students, final year CSE students and all the years of Nursing students were benefitted out of this event. It was organized by Dr. G. Amuthavalli, Professor and Head-Research & Development in coordination with Prof. Jamuna Rani from ICON and Dr. P.Meganathan, ASP and Dr.N.Mythili, AP from SVCET.
