NEWSLETTER FOR RESEARCH TALK IN MIXED METHOD RESEARCH
The Research Committee of SVMCH & RC organized a Research Talk on the topic “Mixed Method Research – Purpose and Design” at Virchow Hall on 25th August, 2026 from 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM.
The program was organized with the objective to sensitize the faculty members and postgraduate students about the importance of mixed method research design in health sciences research, its purpose, types, and practical application in medical research and publications.
The program commenced with an inaugural ceremony. The gathering was welcomed by Dr. PAPA DASARI , Research Dean, SVMCH & RC, who delivered the welcome address. In his address, She highlighted the significance of research methodology workshops in improving the quality of research projects, dissertations, and publications, and emphasized why mixed method research is gaining importance in evidence-based medicine.
This was followed by facilitation of the chief guest. Our college Director, Dr.S.RATHINASAMY, felicitated our chief guest Dr. T. Mahalakshmi, Professor, Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, JIPMER, Puducherry, with a memento and a floral bouquet as a token of respect and gratitude.
The program witnessed active participation from faculties and postgraduate students from all institutions of Sri Venkateshwaraa Group of Institutions (SVGI), including Medical, Dental, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Allied Health Sciences.IN SVCOPT, Dr.D.DHANALAKSHMI & Dr. A. KIRTHIGA along with 25 postgraduate participants attended the session. The talk was followed by a doubts clarification / interactive session, where the participants clarified their queries regarding selection of appropriate research design, integration of qualitative and quantitative data, and application of mixed methods in their PG dissertations and research projects. The resource person patiently answered all the queries and shared valuable tips for publication. Finally, the program concluded with a vote of thanks, proposed by Research Committee Member, SVMCH & RC, who expressed sincere gratitude to the Management, Director, Dean, Resource Person, and all participants for making the event a grand success.
