Our faculty and students actively participated at Research Talk Program 2026 on the topic “Publishing in WOS-SCIE/PUBMED/SCOPUS-Indexed Journals: Why Good Research Sometimes Goes Wrong and Remains Unpublished?” on 27 February 2026 at Sai Auditorium, SVMCH&RC, Puducherry. The program was organized by Shri Venkateshwara College of Pharmacy with the active participation of faculty members and students from various institutions under SVGI.
The resource person, Dr. Balakumar Pitchai, M.Pharm., Ph.D., Professor and Director, Research Training and Publication, Office of Research and Development, Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology, Thanjavur, delivered an insightful lecture on the common challenges faced by researchers while publishing in reputed indexed journals such as WOS-SCIE, PUBMED, and SCOPUS. He highlighted the reasons why quality research sometimes fails to get published and provided valuable guidance on improving manuscript preparation, research methodology, and publication strategies.
During the session, Dr. Balakumar Pitchai emphasized the importance of selecting appropriate journals, maintaining research ethics, avoiding common mistakes in manuscript writing, and ensuring the quality of research work to meet international publication standards. The session proved to be highly informative and beneficial for both faculty members and students interested in research and academic publishing.
On this occasion, the Chief Operating Officer, Dr. B. Vidya, honored the resource person with a memento and certificate in appreciation of his valuable contribution to the program.
The Research Committee, Principals of various institutions, faculty members, and students from Sri Venkateshwaraa Group of Institutions actively participated in the event. The program was highly appreciated for its practical insights and guidance, motivating participants to enhance their research quality and publication outcomes.
