The placement cell-Indirani College of Nursing, in collaboration with Global Talent Track (GTT) and BARCLAYS, organized a personality development programme for the final year students of all the nursing courses from 17.05.21 to 22.05.21.

The inauguration programme was organized on 17.05.21 Monday at 1.30 pm. The programme started in a formal manner with prayer to spread the spirit of wisdom. Respected Principal Prof.Dr.Malliga.M, delivered the felicitation address with her warm wishes and entailed the theme and objectives of the programme. The chief presenter of the session was introduced by Prof.Dr.Rajeswari.R, Vice Principal of the institution. The vibrant trainer Mr.Sivasubramaniam, B.Pharm, MBA, Trainer, Global Talent Track (GTT) and BARCLAYS foundation took over the session with a self introduction to the group and narrated briefly about the training session.

On the first day, the programme focused on the theme of “Changing Landscape, Changing reality”. In this session, there was a mutual introduction between the trainer and students. The personality of each and every student was assessed by the play way method. There was a sensitization on the concepts of digitization through new trending apps. The history of the nursing profession for the past 50 years and its future scope on COVID context was discussed with the students. On the second day, the plan engrossed the concept of “Adaptation to the new emerging Job Scenarios”. This prepared the students for facing the challenges of the new situation they might encounter as new employees.The topics covered Job language, Confidence building, Time management, Stress management which helped the students to build imbuement in body language and management of the new situation in the best manner.

On the third day, the deal was concentrated on the aptitude skill building. This happened in both quantitative and analytical reasoning methods. This prepared the participants to face the challenges in their day-to-day activities of the job in the future.

On the fourth day, the memoranda convened on the development of Entrepreneurship skills. It emphasized discussion of social media marketing and its importance and lacunae. This helps the students to understand the opportunities in creating entrepreneurship opportunities

On the fifth day, the activities spotlighted on the concept of resume writing. It elaborated on the sub concepts and this allowed the students to develop a strong profile through effective resume writing. The group discussions were made with the scenarios which helped to equip students with knowledge and techniques to effectively tackle the interview process.

On the final day, the model practical mock interview and group discussions were held which helped the students to understand the characteristics of successful group discussion and get trained about the method of participation in the Group Discussion. The program feedback by  the final year students of all the courses was an excellent opportunity for them  to be a part of this personality development program. The programme was organized by Prof. G. JamunaRani, HOD, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing cum placement cell coordinator with the guidance of principal madam. And it deserves special mention to Mr. Anandaraj, Placement cell Coordinator, SVCET for the help which was made by him to organize the event in a successful manner.
