REPORT OF WORLD DIABETES DAY - STATE LEVEL SEMINAR - Indirani College of Nursing
On Commemoration of World Diabetes Day, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing has organized a State Level Seminar on the theme – Access to Diabetes Care on 24.11.2022 between 11.00 am to 12.30 pm at Lecture Hall, Indirani College of Nursing. Beneficiaries of the program were around 120 students from M.Sc Nursing I Year and M.Sc Nursing II Year and B.Sc (Nursing) II Year students. The program started at 11.10 am. Mrs. Nandhini.S Lecturer, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing welcomed the gathering. Prof.Dr. Rajeswari R, HOD, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing introduced the Guest Speaker, Dr. K. Shaik Anwar Hussain, M.D (General Medicine), DHSC., (Diabetology), D.H.A. F.C.C.P., M.R.A., F.R.S.H., (London)., Consultant Physician & Diabetologist, Sri Venkateshwara Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Ariyur, Puducherry. Following that Guest Speaker delivered the lecture on theme –of Access to Diabetes Care. Sir had discussed on Diabetes mellitus, classical features, importance of celebrating World diabetes day, key aspects of creating awareness on preventing diabetes in adults. Sir also described about various management modalities like dietary planning, aerobic exercises and regular medication in available forms like medicines, Insulin and its types and various new forms of medical management like Insulin Pump and inhalation forms of insulin. Students actively participated and gained knowledge on Diabetes and its management. Followed by that, Mrs. Kanchana M.Sc Nursing II Year delivered the Vote of Thanks. Program ends at 12.40 Pm. Overall program was conducted under the Guidance of Principal Prof. Dr Malliga M and Prof. Dr. Rajeswari. R, Vice principal cum IQAC Co-ordinator. The participants feedback was obtained at the end of the program which stated that the program was very useful and that the students gained in- depth knowledge on Eye Donation and its importance. The program successfully ended at 2.25 pm. Mrs. Dhanasundari, Assistant Professor, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing Coordinated the overall program along with the M.Sc (N) and B.Sc(N) students.53% of students gave feedback as Excellent
