Seminar on Protecting, Promoting, and Developing Infants
The Nursing Education Unit and the Department of Child Health Nursing, Indirani College of Nursing, Ariyur, Puducherry, organized a Seminar on the topic “Protecting, Promoting, and Developing Infants” on 07.11.2025, in commemoration of Infant Protection Day – 2025.The session was graced by Dr. Sumithra. V, Chief Medical Officer, NFFG, Department of Pediatrics, RGGW & CH, who served as the Resource Person. She delivered an insightful and interactive lecture emphasizing the significance of early child health care, prevention of neonatal infections, immunization, exclusive breastfeeding, and community awareness for ensuring infant safety.
The lecture highlighted the nurse’s pivotal role in reducing infant morbidity and mortality through evidence-based interventions and compassionate care. The session enriched the knowledge of B.Sc. Nursing III Year students and motivated them to contribute effectively to the promotion of infant health and protection in their future professional practice.The program concluded with an interactive discussion, and participants expressed that the session was highly beneficial in strengthening their understanding of infant care and health promotion strategies.
