Tuberculosis is a potentially serious infectious disease that mainly affects the lungs. Mycobacterium tuberculin that cause tuberculosis are spread from one person to another person through tiny droplets released into the air via coughs and sneezes. In 2020, an estimated 10 million people fell ill with tuberculosis worldwide. 5.6 million Men, 3.3 million women and 1.1 million children. TB is present in all countries and age groups. But TB is curable and preventable.
In commemoration of The World Tuberculosis Day, Indirani College of nursing has organized the awareness programme on Tuberculosis under the theme of Invest to end TB save lives on March 24, 2022 at 1.30-2.30 pm. This Programme was planned and organized under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Malliga Kannan, and it was greatly supported by Dr.R. Rajeswari IQAC coordinator cum Vice Principal of the Institution. It was a great motivational awareness regarding tuberculosis and gained good knowledge about tuberculosis.
The event commenced at 1.30 pm. B.sc Nursing IV Year students actively participated in this awareness programme and gained knowledge regarding preventive and control aspects of tuberculosis. The programme came to an end by 2.30 pm. This program was organized by Mrs.E. Manju, Assistant Professor Department of community health nursing with cheerful spirits. The participants gave good feedback about this session.
