Puducherry, April 11, 2026 – Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Physiotherapy successfully organized its 9th International Physiotherapy Conference (Flair 2k26) on April 10 and 11, 2026. Centered on the professional theme “Physiotherapy beyond Walls: Reaching Underserved Populations” and the social theme “Building Bridges for Special Minds,” the event served as a premier platform for academic excellence and global collaboration. The two-day hybrid conference witnessed participation from over 500 students representing 17 colleges across India. International participants also joined virtually and presented research papers, fostering a vibrant environment for knowledge exchange and skill development. The conference was conducted under the guidance of the Sri Venkateshwaraa Group of Institutions Chairman, Shri Ramachandiran, Founder Trustee Smt. Radha Ramachandiran, and Managing Director Shri Rajiv Krishna. The inaugural session featured Chief Guest Dr. B. S. Santhosh Kanna, Principal, National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities, Chennai, who was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his significant contributions to the field. Dr. Pugazhanthi (DGM) delivered an inspiring felicitation address. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Vidhya Ranganathan, Chief Operating Officer, Sri Venkateshwaraa Group of Institutions, emphasizing the need to expand physiotherapy services to underserved populations. The conference was led by Dr. Jeyanthi S, Principal of Sri Venkateshwara College of Physiotherapy, whose leadership played a pivotal role in the event’s success. Aligned with the World Health Organization’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the conference featured eminent national and international speakers who highlighted strategies for extending modern physiotherapy practices to rural and underserved communities. Selected high-quality research abstracts published in the Indian Journal of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, and the supplementary copy of the abstract, along with the newsletter of the academic year 2026, have been released. The Organising Secretary, Dr. Neethi (PT), Professor at the institution, was instrumental in coordinating the event.
