SVCET DST 2 DAYS WORKSHOP FOR SCHOOL TEACHERS ON 22 AND 23-3-2024

Empowering School Teachers with Science Teaching Skills

Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Engineering and Technology in association with the Department of Science and Technology organized a Hands -on Workshop for School Teachers to Improve Science Teaching. A transformative event titled "Empowering School Teachers with Science Teaching Skills," aimed at enhancing the Teaching of Science worldwide. This comprehensive programme was meticulously designed to equip educators from various Schools with essential tools, knowledge, and strategies to effectively impart Science education in Classrooms.

Through a blend of interactive workshops, hands-on training sessions, and access to valuable resource materials, participating teachers underwent a holistic learning experience. The programme fostered confidence and competence among educators, enabling them to deliver engaging and impactful science lessons that ignite a passion for learning among Students.

With the distinguished presence of Dr. B. Vidya, Chief Operating Officer ,SriVenkateshwaraa Group of Institutions, Dr.Thiagarajan,DeputyRegister,SVGI,PrincipalDr.S. Pradeep Devaneyan and Dean Dr. K. B. Jayarraman, Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Engineering and Technology, the event commenced on an auspicious note. The highlight of the session was the esteemed presence of Dr. K. Ravikumar, a renowned Science Communicator and Physics Lecturer from the Institute of Printing Technology, Taramani, Chennai, on 22-3-2024 full day session on Friday and  Dr.C.Shanmugam,ManagingTrustee,Centre for Science Promotion and Research, Chennai on 23-3-2024 full day session on Saturday..

These 2 full day sessions proved to be immensely beneficial for approximately 50 teachers, providing them with invaluable insights and practical experiences that will resonate throughout their teaching careers. By enhancing teacher effectiveness, fostering improved student learning outcomes, and elevating the overall quality of science education, this initiative contributes significantly to advancing science literacy and education globally.

The entire programme was well organised by Mr.J.Anandharaj Placement Officer, Mrs.S.Punitha Asst. Professor EEE, Mrs.Laxmi Priya Asst. Professor Englsih along with the Co-ordinators Mrs.Bharathi, Ms.Afrin and Student Volunteers.

Finally Feedbacks from the participants was received and Mr.J.Anandharaj Placement Officer ended the programme with Vote of Thanks.
