WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY RANGOLI COMPETION BY ANTI NORCOTIC CELL AND NSS UNIT ON 29TH MAY 2026
On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, the Anti-Narcotic Cell and NSS Cell of Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Engineering and Technology, Ariyur, Puducherry, jointly organized a Rangoli Competition on 29.05.2026 at 2.00 PM in the College Campus. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and drug addiction through artistic expression and creativity.
The competition was conducted under the theme “Say No to Tobacco”. Students enthusiastically participated and showcased their talents by creating meaningful and colorful rangoli designs that conveyed strong anti-tobacco and anti-drug messages. The participants effectively used symbols, slogans, and creative artwork to highlight the dangers of smoking, tobacco use, substance abuse, and their impact on health and society.
The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. K.B. Jayarraman, Vice Principal and Anti-Narcotic Cell Member Secretary, and coordinated by Mr. L. Selvakumar, NSS Programme Officer. The competition served as an effective platform to educate students about making healthy lifestyle choices and promoting a drug-free society.
The judges appreciated the creativity, originality, and awareness messages portrayed in the rangoli designs. Through this event, students gained a deeper understanding of the importance of avoiding tobacco and drugs and became ambassadors for spreading awareness among their peers and communities.
