Awareness Program on Drug Abuse – 2025
Shri Venkateshwaraa College of Pharmacy organized an Awareness Program on Drug Abuse on 9th April 2025 at Indirani Hall, SVCP. The event aimed to enlighten students about the alarming impact of drug abuse on individuals and society, and to promote a drug-free campus culture.
The session featured Mr. Vamseedhara Reddy Datla, PPS, Superintendent of Police (West), Puducherry, as the Resource Person, who delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking address on the role of youth in preventing substance abuse and promoting social responsibility.
The program was presided over by Dr. B. Ramachandran, Chairman, SVGI, and graced by Mr. A.R. Rajivkrishna, Managing Director, SVGI, and Dr. B. Vidhya, COO, SVGI, as the Guest of Honour.
The event was convened by Dr. Jayaraman Rajangam, Principal, SVCP, under the guidance of the Advisory Committee members — Dr. R. Venguatramane and Mr. A. Soundarajan. The program was well-coordinated by Dr. A. Priyanka, Assistant Professor, along with Dr. A. Umesh and Dr. T. Arul as the Organizing Secretaries.
The initiative highlighted the institution’s commitment to building awareness, responsibility, and a healthy lifestyle among future healthcare professionals.
