Glaucoma Awareness Physical Poster Competition
The Ophthalmology Department of SVMCH&RC successfully organized a Glaucoma Awareness Program from 8th March to 14th March, with the objective of creating awareness among the public about Glaucoma and highlighting the importance of early detection and treatment.
As part of this program, a Physical Poster Competition was conducted on the theme “Glaucoma Awareness” in both English and Tamil, encouraging students to present creative and informative ideas to spread awareness about this silent sight-threatening disease. The competition welcomed active participation from Undergraduate students, who participated two in a team..
Students from various departments of SVGI enthusiastically took part in the event.
From the BPT 3rd Year, the participating teams were:

- Revathy & Kamalesh
- Madhumitha & Veeramani
From the BPT 4th Year, the participating teams were:
- Anitha & Navin
- Jeevitha & Kanimozhi
- Kamali
The posters were judged based on creativity, presentation, relevance to the theme, and the effectiveness of the awareness message delivered to the public.
The competition concluded with remarkable achievements by our students. Mr.R. Navin Guru and Ms.J Anitha (Fourth Year) secured the First Prize for their outstanding and impactful presentation. The Second Prize was awarded to Mr. N.Kamalesh and Ms. R.Revathy (3rd Year) for their creative and informative poster.
The event was a grand success and served as an excellent platform for our students to showcase their creativity while contributing to an important public health awareness cause. It also reflected the enthusiasm, teamwork, and dedication of our participants. The Ophthalmology Department appreciates the active involvement of all students and social responsibility among future healthcare professionals.
