HEALTH AWARENESS SESSION- WORLD ELDER ABUSE AWARENESS DAY
The Department of Community Health Nursing, Indirani College of Nursing, organized an Elder Abuse Awareness Programme on 16th June 2025 at Sooramangalam from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. This programme was organized to promote community responsibility in preventing abuse and neglect of senior citizens and to foster environmental consciousness through tree planting as a symbol of care and sustainability.
In the event, B.Sc. Nursing students participated and sensitized 78 elderly community members on various aspects of elder abuse through informative posters highlighting its types such as Physical, emotional, sexual, financial, and neglect, causes, and preventive strategies such as Community vigilance, support services, regular health checkups, and legal protections.
