International Women’s Day Celebration on 7.3.2024

Indirani College of Nursing in association with JCI Pondicherry French City organized International Women’s Day Celebration on 7.3.2024, from 2 Pm to 4.30 Pm. This programme was conducted to raise awareness about the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women worldwide among the young women of our institution and to spread the feel of empowerment. Warm greetings were extended to the group by Jc. Dr. K. Poovizhi, JCRT wing chairperson. The special address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Malliga Kannan, Principal, Indirani College of Nursing, who emphasized on the resilience of various women around the world.

Mrs. Amalorpava Marie Victoria, Past Zone Officer, JCI India, Chief Guest of the day addressed the gathering on values of life. Dr. E. Premila Thamizhvanan, CNO/Regional coordinator and Principal, college of nursing IGMC&RI, Puducherry fostered a conscious dialogue about the issues concerning women’s right and gender equality. She advocated the students to be confident, assertive, and to face the world in a bold manner, which was a real eye opening session to the young students. Students namely Sindhuja of M. Sc Nursing II Year and Kanimozhi of B.Sc Nursing II Year discoursed Tamil speech regarding women’s day.

The women achievers were awarded by guests and various prizes given to the students for the women’s day competition. Jc Dr. E. Madhanaraj, Secretary, Jc M. Emthiyas, President, and Jc Mrs. Jayanthi Rajkumar, Project Director, graced the occasion with their felicitations. Finally Indirani College of Nursing and JCI Jointly signed the MOU for the welfare of the society. Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Dr.Rajeswari.R, Vice Principal, Indirani College of Nursing. The overall program was organized by Associate Professor Amudha.G, Department of OBG, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Malliga Kannan Principal and Prof. Dr. Rajeswari.R, Vice Principal. The program ended with the National anthem.
