SVCOPT Conducts Physiotherapy Camp at Pushpagandhi Old Age Home
Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Physiotherapy (SVCOPT), Puducherry, successfully organized a Physiotherapy Camp on October 15, 2025, at the Pushpagandhi Old Age Home, Pondicherry. The initiative was carried out under the expert guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. S. Jeyanthi and led by Assistant Professor Ms. Pavithra S. A dedicated team of nine physiotherapy students—comprising five undergraduates and four postgraduates—actively participated in the camp. Under Ms. Pavithra’s supervision, the students conducted comprehensive assessments and provided physiotherapy interventions for 15 elderly residents. Each participant received a personalized treatment plan that included palliative care, individualized exercise routines, and practical home care advice. In addition to clinical services, the students engaged in meaningful interactions with the residents, discussing their health issues and daily challenges. The camp concluded with an energetic group exercise session and recreational games, fostering physical activity and social engagement among the residents. The event served as a valuable hands-on learning opportunity for the students and was warmly appreciated by the management of the Sharon Society and the residents of the old age home for its compassionate and community-centered approach.
