WOMEN’S DAY PROGRAMME – 2026
In connection with International Women’s Day, Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Physiotherapy organized a special programme on March 10, 2026, at Mary McMillan Hall to celebrate women’s achievements and create awareness. The programme began with a formal inauguration graced by Ms. Shruthi S. Yaragatti, IPS, from the Cyber Crime Cell, who attended as the Chief Guest. During the event, the Principal, Prof. Dr. Jeyanthi S., addressed and felicitated the gathering.
The formal session featured an informative lecture by Mr. Santhosh, Sub-Inspector (Cyber Cell), on the topic “Empowering Women in the Digital Era: Cyber Crime Awareness.” He highlighted the growing challenges faced by women in the digital space and explained various types of cybercrimes such as online harassment, identity theft, and cyberbullying. He also guided students on how to stay safe online, protect personal information, and report cybercrimes through appropriate legal channels. His session created strong awareness among the students about responsible digital behavior and the importance of cyber safety.
The programme also included a special lecture by Mrs. K. Hemalatha, Consultant Psychologist at SVGI. She spoke on the topic “Navigating Women’s Values, Beliefs, Culture, Responsibilities, and Emotional Development in Modern Society.” Her talk encouraged students to focus on self-development, maintain psychological well-being, and face life’s challenges with courage and determination.
Following the formal session, the celebration continued with a series of vibrant informal events organized for the students. These included classical dance performances, debate competitions, skit presentations, and the screening of short films. These activities provided a platform for students to showcase their creativity, talent, and perspectives on women’s empowerment and social awareness.
The overall programme was organized by Dr. Subalakshmi, Assistant Professor. The event concluded on a positive note, leaving students motivated to contribute toward building a safer and more equitable society for women.
