National Public Health Dentistry Day – 19th June

The Department of Public Health Dentistry observed National Public Health Dentistry Day – 2024 by organizing the following events:

• Capacity Building Event for CRRIs and Oral Health Education for primary school students
• Dental Screening and treatment camp for general population

 Capacity Building Event for CRRIs and Oral Health Education for Primary School Students, Maducaraipet, Puducherry

The Dept. of Public Health Dentistry organized oral health education sessions for all the students of K. Subramani Government Primary School, Madicaraipet, Pondicherry. The task of providing oral health education was given to CRRIs. The CRRIs took the initiative and planned the entire event under the supervision of the faculties of the department. They were initially trained in the department with various principles of health education.

Dental Screening and Treatment Camp at Purushanur Village

A dental screening and treatment camp was organized by the Dept. of Public Health Dentistry for children and general population of Purushanur village. About 60 patients benefitted from the camp. Oral health education was given to all the patients and those requiring complex treatment were referred to college
