SMART INDIA HACKATHON HELD AT SVCET ON 8 AND 9TH DECEMBER 2025
Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Engineering & Technology (SVCET), Ariyur, Puducherry, has been selected by the Ministry of Education and AICTE as a Host Institute for the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 – Software Edition Grand Finale, scheduled on 8th and 9th December 2025.
SIH 2025 is one of India’s largest innovation initiatives aimed at nurturing a culture of creativity and problem-solving among students by engaging them in real-world challenges posed by ministries, PSUs, industries, and NGOs. The primary objectives of SIH include promoting innovative thinking, bridging the gap between academics and practical problem-solving, supporting national missions like Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, and enabling mentorship, incubation, and technology-driven development for young innovators.
The key features of SIH 2025 include problem-driven innovation, both Software and Hardware editions, diverse themes such as AI/ML, Blockchain, Smart Education, MedTech, Agriculture, Robotics, and Disaster Management, mandatory 6-member inclusive teams, multi-stage evaluation from internal hackathons to the national finale, and attractive rewards with follow-up technical and incubation support. As a nodal center, SVCET will host teams from various states who will work on four major problem statements: Blockchain-Based Blue Carbon Registry, AI/ML Rake Formation Optimizer for SAIL, AI-enabled Vessel Scheduling & Logistics Optimizer, and an AI-driven Energy Efficiency System for Iron Ore Mining.
SVCET expressed pride in hosting this national event and reaffirmed its commitment to providing world-class facilities, expert mentoring, and an inspiring environment for students, faculty, jury members, and industry experts participating in the 36-hour non-stop grand finale. The event is expected to bring together bright young minds from across India to develop impactful, technology-driven solutions for national development.

Our SVCET Managing Director Shri.B.Rajivkrishna Sir and Executive Director Smt. Mrs. Moushmi Rajiv Krishna has graced the Valedictory Function.
Mr.Pankaj Pandey, AICTE and Mrs.Radhika Kodejkar, Mutual Vision has acted as AICTE NODAL OFFICERS for this Smart India Hackathon.

Each of the above teams was awarded the First Prize, which included a cheque award of Rs. 1,50,000 along with a Winning Certificate.
Mr. Syed Sajjath Ali, Managing Director, EATON, and Mr. ThiruvengadamKrishnasamy, CEO, Twilight IT Solutions, graced the event and addressed the gathering.
