Smart India Hackathon 2026 – Internal Hackathon
Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Engineering and Technology successfully organised the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026 – Internal Hackathon on 9 and 10 September 2026. The two-day event provided a dynamic platform for students to transform innovative ideas into practical solutions addressing real-world challenges.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation with 70 teams comprising 418 students, including 222 male and 196 female participants. Among the submitted ideas, 36 were hardware-based and 34 were software-based, reflecting a strong balance between product-oriented innovation and digital solutions.
Students worked on diverse themes including Smart Automation, Healthcare, Agriculture and Rural Development, Disaster Management, Robotics and Drones, Cybersecurity, Transportation and Logistics, Sustainability, and Social Applications. The projects demonstrated interdisciplinary thinking and the application of emerging technologies to contemporary societal and industrial challenges.
The evaluation was conducted simultaneously across three venues by multidisciplinary faculty panels. Each team presented its identified problem, proposed solution and implementation methodology, along with prototype or concept demonstrations wherever available. Projects were assessed based on innovation, technical approach, feasibility, scalability, potential impact, implementation plan, teamwork and presentation quality.
The Internal Hackathon created an engaging ecosystem for innovation, teamwork, problem-solving, prototype development and interdisciplinary collaboration. Importantly, all 70 participating teams were nominated, recognising and encouraging the innovative efforts demonstrated by the students during the institutional round.
The event reaffirmed SVCET's commitment to nurturing innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial thinking among students, empowering young innovators to develop technology-driven solutions with meaningful societal and industrial impact.
