On focusing towards curricular enrichment, the Department of Community Health nursing has organized a Departmental Seminar on the topic of “Alternative System of Medicine” on 03.05.2023 between 10.30 am to 12.30 pm at lecture Hall. The seminar focused on introduction to Indigenous and Alternate systems of medicine. The programme started at 10:30 am with the welcome address by Ms.Sharmila, B.Sc (Nursing) IV year. Dr.Prof. Dr. Malliga. M , Principal unfolded the theme and portrayed the importance of the alternate system of medicine in day to day life and introduced the resource person Dr. Deepti Maria, Ayurvedha Medical Officer, Primary Health Centre in a fabulous manner. The session was bestowed by her in the systematic way , Which given clear ideas about types of alternative medicine, branches of Ayurveda, aims of Ayurveda, specialties of Ayurveda, yoga practices, spiritual therapy, diseases that can be cured by alternative system, Adaraniya &Dharaniya vegas, B. Sc Nursing IV th year students were benefited and gained adequate knowledge from the session. The programme was conducted successfully under the guidance of Prof.Dr. Malliga. M, Principal and Prof. Dr. Rajeswari. R, Vice Principal and supported by Prof.Dr.S.Rathidevi.S, HOD, Department of Community Health Nursing. Mrs.Manju. E, Asst. Professor, Department of Community Health Nursing coordinated the overall programme. The program successfully ended by 12.30 pm.
