QUALITY INITIATIVE PROGRAMME REGARDING SENSITIZATION ABOUT INTEGRATION OF NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY(NEP) IN NAAC ACCREDITATION PROCESS - Indirani College of Nursing

The National Education Policy 2020 is the first education policy of the 21st century and aims to address the many growing developmental imperatives of our country. This Policy proposes the revision and revamping of all aspects of the education structure, including its regulation and governance, to create a new system that is aligned with the aspirational goals of 21st century education, including SDG4, while building upon India’s traditions and value systems. In align with the NEP, National Assessment and Accreditation council (NAAC) has evolved a manual that is technology enabled and all encompassing. The Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) have to take cognizance of the new methodology and the Manual for their efforts in seeking accreditation.

With the Support of respected chairman Shri.B.Ramachandhiran, Patron, Co Parrons Shri R Rajeev Krishna, Dr.B.Vidhya, the IQAC department of ICON organized an virtual quality initiative programme regarding sensitization about Integration of NEP in NAAC accreditation process with the guidance of Prof.Dr.Malliga.M Kannan, Principal and initiated Prof.Dr.Rajeswari.R,Vice principal cum IQAC Coordinator on 29.01.2022 from 10.30am to 12.40pm.

The programme started with warm welcome by the Prof.Dr.Malliga M and session continued with the expert deliberation. The eminent speaker Prof.K.Sathyanarayanan, ED TECH professional, CEG Chennai deliberated about the salient features of NEP and its interaction with NAAC accreditation process. Highlighted about the changes made in the NAAC manual of health care institutions as well as narrated excellently how this incorporation will enhance the teaching and learning process at higher education level.This session enlightened all the participants about the mandatory changes to be adhered to at our institutions. All the faculties and PG students participated with greater enthusiasm. The session ended with a vote of thanks proposed by the IQAC coordinator. Feedback obtained from all the participants.
