The World Celebrates Earth Day to rekindle emotive concerns and instigate the youngsters to save, love and respect Mother Nature with all their heart and soul.

On the occasion of the Earth Day, an array of creative activities was organized with a view to sensitize the conservation of natural resources and to motive them to do their bit towards making their planet even more beautiful. Perhaps to provide better opportunity for students, ISTE event has been launched at Sri Venkateswara College of engineering and technology on World Earth Day, 22nd April 2022 by the philanthropic guidance of Shri. B. Ramachandiran,Chairman,SVGI.

The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is the leading National Professional non-profit making Society for the Technical Education System in our country with the motto of Career Development of Teachers and Personality Development of Students and overall development of our Technical Education System. The event was elegantly held under the head bearing of Puducherry’s ISTE section head Mr.Vijayakrishna Rapaka and ISTEs Indian Executive Council member Mr.Y.R.M Rao.

The celebration commenced under the presence of Mr.R.Rajiv Krishna, Managing Director,SVGI; Dr.B.Vidhya ,COO,SVGI and Mr.A.Soundarajan, General Manager,SVGI and Dr.S.Pradeep Devaneyan, Principal of Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Engineering & Technology delivered special acknowledgements and welcomed the gathering. Students were granted membership cards, making them proud participants for a good cause. The importance and need of  standard education, was greatly spoken by the chief guests and also the agenda of World Earth Day were also discussed. All department heads, respected professors and students bestowed the event with their participation.

The corridors of the college reverberated with the thoughts of the day as they took pledge to sensitize others about the importance of saving environment. The event depicted the dire need to protect the earth and proved to be an eye opener for the audience.

Special motive speech by the administrative officers of ISTE gave an opportunity for the students to understand the necessity to play the role of young environment reporters and invigorated the young minds towards taking care of our planet, our home.

With much e’lan and confidence, the event came to an end following our Dean Dr.K.B.Jayarraman‘s inspiring end note. Dr. G. Amuthavalli, Head of Research & Development and her team well organised the event.
