Seminar on Animal Safety
The Nursing Education Unit of Indirani College of Nursing, under the Department of Community Health Nursing, conducted an informative Animal Safety Awareness Programme on 10.12.2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Florence Nightingale Auditorium, ICON. The session focused on preventive behaviour, first aid for animal bites, and the importance of immediate reporting. Dr. R. Prema, MBBS, DNB (General Medicine), Chief Medical Officer, PHC–Ariyur, served as the resource person and delivered a detailed lecture on avoiding animal attacks, managing bites through prompt first aid, and following proper reporting and referral protocols to prevent complications such as rabies. The programme witnessed active participation from faculty and students, enriching their knowledge and preparedness in handling animal bite–related emergencies. Indirani College of Nursing continues to emphasize community safety and public health awareness through such educational initiatives.
