Seminar on Indigenous Approaches to the Care of Clients with Arthritis
The Department of Community Health Nursing organized a seminar on “Indigenous Approaches to the Care of Clients with Arthritis” on 04.11.2025 at ICON in observance of World Arthritis Day. The session aimed to enhance students’ awareness of joint health and promote support for individuals living with arthritis. Dr. Joy Emmanuel, Ayurveda Medical Officer, PHC Ariyur, delivered an enlightening presentation on the types, signs, and symptoms of arthritis, along with treatment methods, lifestyle modifications, yoga, and spiritual therapy. The seminar emphasized the importance of indigenous and alternative systems of medicine in arthritis management. Students from M.Sc. (Nursing) I & II Year, B.Sc. (Nursing) IV Year, and P.B.B.Sc. (Nursing) II Year actively participated and interacted with the speaker. The session concluded with an engaging discussion, enriching the students’ understanding of holistic approaches to arthritis care.
