Two-Day Workshop on Myofascial Release and Cyriax Mobilisation at SVCOPT
Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Physiotherapy (SVCOPT) successfully organized a two-day workshop on January 8th and 9th, 2026, at Mary McMillan Hall, SVCOPT. The workshop focused on Myofascial Release (MFR) on Day 1 and Cyriax Mobilisation on Day 2, aiming to enhance both theoretical knowledge and clinical skills among participants. The workshop was led by Dr. R. Arunmozhi, PhD, a Certified Practitioner in Myofascial Release and holder of a Diploma in Cyriax, currently serving as a Professor at Sardar Bhagwan Singh University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The sessions were highly interactive and included comprehensive theory lectures followed by extensive hands-on practical training, enabling participants to gain practical clinical exposure. The event was conducted under the esteemed guidance of the Chief Patrons: Shri. B. Ramachandiran, Chairman, SVGI; Smt. Radha Ramachandiran, Founder Chairman, SVGI; Mr. A. R. Rajivkrishna, Managing Director, SVGI; Smt. Moushmi Rajiv, Executive Director, SVGI, and our Chief Operating Officer, Dr. B. Vidhya. During the inaugural session, the resource person, Dr. R. Arunmozhi, was formally honoured by our Principal, Prof. Dr. Jeyanthi. S. The speaker’s introduction was delivered by Mrs. J. Philomina, Assistant Professor, highlighting the speaker’s academic and clinical expertise. A total of 32 participants, including PG 1st and 2nd year students, UG Interns, faculty members of SVCOPT, and faculty members from other Physiotherapy Colleges around Pondicherry, actively participated in the workshop. The programme was well received and appreciated for its clinical relevance and practical orientation. The overall organization and coordination of the workshop were efficiently carried out by Mr. S. Ramkumar, Senior Assistant Professor, SVCOPT. The event concluded successfully, enriching participants with advanced manual therapy skills and reinforcing the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and professional development.
