World AIDS Day-Indirani College of Nursing

On Commemoration of World AIDS Day, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing has organized an Awareness Talk on 01.12.2022 between 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm at Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering and Technology. Beneficiaries of the program were around 120 Engineering students. The program started at 2.35 pm. 10 Volunteers from B.Sc Nursing II Year has participated in Awareness. Engineering Students were split into Two Batches. Mrs. Nandhini.S, Lecturer, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing welcomed the gathering and Moderated the session, Pre test was obtained from the participants. Three students from B.Sc Nursing II Year delivered an awareness talk to the First batch on following topics like HIV origin and Virology, HIV cycle, Transmission of AIDS, Stages and symptoms of AIDS, Various testing methods and Anti Retroviral Therapy also focused on its preventive measures, Students have explained well on the myths and facts on HIV. The same session carried out to the second batch participants by Four B.Sc Nursing Students. All beneficiaries were actively participated, at the end of the session Post Test was conducted. The program came to an end at 4pm. The participants feedback was obtained at the end of the program which stated that the program was very useful and that the students gained in- depth knowledge on AIDS and its related milestones developed in health field. 45% of students gave feedback as Excellent, 35% of students gave as Very Good and 20% gave as Good as Feedback. The program successfully ended at 3.25 pm. Ms. Nandhini S, and Mrs. Malar R, Lecturer Department of Medical Surgical Nursing Coordinated the overall program along with the B.Sc Nursing II Year students.
