It celebrates womanhood and pays tribute to the indomitable spirit of women across the globe. It's root lies in the early 1900s when oppression and inequality was spurring women to become more vocal and active in campaigning for change. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements.

International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8. The event aims to highlight and recognise the achievements of women in different spheres while also bringing attention to important issues including gender discrimination that exist even today. The theme of 2022 International Women’s Day is “gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”.

In commemoration of International Women’s Day, Indirani College of Nursing, IQAC and Department of Mental Health Nursing had organized Stress Management programme on March 07.03.2022 at 11.30 am – 12.30 pm at SVMCH&RI. The program was planned and organized under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Malliga Kannan, and it was greatly supported by Prof. Dr. R. Rajeswari, IQAC coordinator cum vice principal of the Institution.

The programme was started at 11.30 am, Mr. Haridass. V, Assistant Professor gave an overview about the importance of Stress Management. Mr. Sankar. C, M.Sc. Nursing I Year student, presented on the topic Stress Management among the patient and caretaker to sensitize the people about the Stress and its management and the programme came to an end by 12.30 pm. The number of beneficiaries was 32.   This program was organized by Mrs. Jayanthi. K, Professor in Mental Health Nursing department with cheerful spirits.
