Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering and Technology, Ariyur, Pondicherry, in association with Puducherry Technological University organized three-day workshop on Computers, Internet and its applications and cyber security awareness session under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan project for the betterment of rural women's lives. Dr. S. Pradeep Devaneyan, Principal, SVCET welcomed the gathering.

Prof.S. Mohan, Vice Chancellor, Puducherry Technological University, inaugurated the program and he motivated all the participants to extend this training and also to train other women in their vicinity. Prof. Jayaraj, Head of the Department of Computer Science, Pondicherry Technological University greeted the students who had come for their training. In his speech, he elaborated on the importance of computers, the applications of the Internet and the benefits that students can derive from it.
Dr.R. Kalpana,CSE, Professor, Puducherry Technological University well explained the applications of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan project and the purpose of the project .
Mr. Rajeev, Krishna , Managing Director ,SVGI, Dr. B. Vidya, Chief Executive Officer ,Mr.Soundararajan, General Manager,SVGI, congratulated the students for attending the workshop and Dr.K.B. Jayaraman,Dean , the head of all departments, Professors and rural women who came to study computer attended the inaugural function. Dr.J. Jayabharathi,Associate Professor, Puducherry Technological University proposed the vote of thanks .Mrs,Kalpana. Women’s empowerment cell head well organized the programme .
