EXPERT DELIBERATION ON HEALTH MELA–20.12.2022 - Indirani College of Nursing
THEME – AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV- BUILD THE WORLD WE WANT: A HEALTHY FUTURE FOR ALL
On Commemoration of Health Mela 2022, Under the Direction of Pondicherry State Health Society, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing and the Kriya Healing centre, of the institution has organized screening and awareness Programme on the theme “Build the world we want: a healthy future for all”on 20.12.2022 between 8 am to 12.30 pm at Ariyur, PHC, Puducherry. Healthcare Services offered at the Health Melas are Adolescent Friendly Health Clinic, Breast Self examination , Cancer Cervix Screening by PAP smear, Dietary management, hypertension, diabetes Screening, ABHA ID Creation, and teleconsultation. The program started at 8 am. Mr.Vetrivel, Counsellor welcomed the gathering and introduced Dr.Sathish kumar, Medical officer, Ariyur (PHC), Chief guest, Dr. Prof.Malliga. M Principal, Indirani College of Nursing, Mr.Sangaranarayanan, MD, Correspondent, Sri Ramachandra Vidyalaya Higher Secondary School. Following that Chief Guest delivered the speech on the importance of health and wellbeing and early detection and initiation of treatment can prevent complications arising from diseases. Medical officer felicitated the gathering and honoured the Resource persons. Totally 5 Stations were arranged such as Adolescent Friendly Health Clinic, Breast Screening, Ca Cervix Screening, Diet management. Patients visited and gained awareness about Self Breast Examination, Breast Cancer, Cervical Cancer, Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus and its Screening, management. Students demonstrated yoga therapy for Health and wellbeing. Beneficiaries of the program were around 139 Patients. Followed by that, Medical officer delivered the Vote of Thanks and Prizes were distributed to all winners. Program ends at 12.30 Pm. Overall program was conducted under the Guidance of Dr.Sathishkumar, Medical officer, Ariyur (PHC), Principal Prof. Dr Malliga M and Prof. Dr. Rajeswari. R, Vice principal cum IQAC Co-ordinator.The participants feedback was obtained at the end of the program which stated that the program was very useful and that the patients gained knowledge. The program successfully ended at 12.30 pm. Mrs. Rosi, Lecturer, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing, G.Gunasakthi, Lecturer, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing, Mrs. Nandhini.S, Lecturer, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing Coordinated the overall program along with the M.Sc (N) I year and B.Sc(N), II, IVth year students.
